Paia Mantokuji Obon Festival 6-9:30pm July 11, 2026

The Paia Mantokuji Soto Zen Mission hosts its annual Obon Festival at 253 Hana Hwy on Saturday, July 11. Food concessions open at 5:30 pm with traditional local favorites like chow fun, nishime bowl, bento, baked goods, and more. Festivities begin with taiko performances by Zenshin Daiko at 6:00 pm and Maui Taiko at 6:30 pm. Bon dancing is from 7:00 to 9:30 pm. Parking is available across the street at the Paia Community Center and the Hawaiian Protestant Church. An Obon Service will be conducted at the temple on Friday, July 10 at 6:00 pm.
