Step into a calm, creative space and experience the joy of Chinese brush writing in this beginner-friendly introduction to Tao Calligraphy®.
This one-hour session is designed for complete beginners and focuses on the basics of Tao Calligraphy writing—how to hold the brush, form strokes, and write simple, meaningful Chinese characters in a relaxed and enjoyable way. No prior calligraphy, art, or language experience is needed.
Participants can explore the flow and rhythm of brush writing while learning how Tao Calligraphy brings together movement, focus, and intention. The practice naturally encourages presence and clarity, making it a refreshing pause from the busyness of daily life.
Participants will have time to practice writing a foundational character or phrase commonly associated with well-being, harmony, or new beginnings, making this experience especially meaningful for the New Year season.
In this 1-hour In-Person Experience, you will:
- Learn what Tao Calligraphy is and how it differs from other calligraphy styles
- Practice basic brush technique, posture, and stroke flow
- Write a simple Tao Calligraphy character or phrase
- Enjoy a calm, focused, and creative writing experience
- Receive a Tao Calligraphy Book to continue to learn more and receive the benefits of Tao Calligraphy
This session is open to all ages and backgrounds and is perfect for anyone curious about Chinese culture, brush writing, or creative wellness practices.
