Adaptations Dance Theater (ADT) proudly presents the return of Bring it Home, the contemporary dance company’s signature summer dance concert series. Bring it Home brings back Maui-raised dance artists pursuing professional careers elsewhere to collaborate with ADT’s resident dancers to create and share original contemporary works with our island community. This year’s Bring it Home concert features an invigorating evening-length show that will transport you to a world brimming with joy, athleticism, and vibrant colors. Co-Artistic Directors Hallie Hunt and Ali McKeon Pineo have crafted a captivating dance experience that delves into the depths of emotions and celebrates the power of the human spirit.
Embark on a dance theater adventure as the stage comes alive with dynamic movement, colorful costumes, and the energy that only live performance can provide. ADT’s unique dancers will give their authentic movement to communicate themes of joy, creativity, love, hardship, sacrifice, and perseverance. They transport you to worlds both familiar and extraordinary. From the playful and exuberant to the tender and introspective, each section brings forth a unique narrative, leaving you with a renewed sense of wonder and a heart full of emotion.

The Historic Iao Theater, built in 1928 in Wailuku, is a beloved Maui landmark and one of Hawaii's oldest theaters, renowned for its Spanish-Mission Revival architecture and rich cultural legacy. Originally designed as both a movie house and live performance venue, the Iao has hosted everything from Hollywood premieres to legendary USO shows with stars like Frank Sinatra and Bob Hope. Despite periods of decline and near closure, the Iao’s enduring presence-now listed on both the Hawaii and National Registers of Historic Places-reflects its importance as a gathering place for entertainment and community on Maui.
For Maui OnStage, the Iao Theater is more than just a venue; it is the heart of their mission to provide accessible, high-quality performing arts experiences for the island. After a devastating fire destroyed their previous home, Maui OnStage (formerly Maui Community Theater) found new life in the Iao, helping to restore and revitalize the historic space. Today, the Iao Theater stands as a vibrant hub for creativity, self-expression, and cultural enrichment, serving as a cornerstone for Maui's artistic community and a cherished symbol of resilience and aloha.
