Jazz Maui presents the Tadashi Thomas Trio at Sunset Jazz 5-7pm Jan 1/23

Jazz Maui presents 'Sunset Jazz' featuring The Tadashi Thomas Trio on Sunday, January 1, 2023 from 5-7pm at the Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate Factory, 78 Ulupono St in Lahaina. Sunset Jazz features an all-star line-up of local and visiting professional jazz musicians and different artists perform each week. Hailing from Hawaii, Tadashi Thomas is a New York-based trumpet player, composer, and arranger. He has performed at landmark jazz venues including Dizzy's Club, Birdland, Cafe Bohemia, and the Blue Note Hawaii. Thomas has shared the stage with musicians of the highest caliber including Samara Joy, Katie Thiroux, Justin Kauflin, and the Birdland Big Band. The Tadashi Thomas Trio includes Jeff Hellmer on piano and Dave Graber on bass.

'Sunset Jazz' takes place weekly in the upstairs open-air pavilion at The Chocolate Bar, a new feature at the Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate Factory. Concert goers can enjoy great jazz and sunset views, along with their purchases of award-winning chocolate and their choice of beverage from an extensive selection of wine, spirits and beer.

Sunset Jazz concert attendees must be 21 or older and have a valid photo ID. Seating is limited so advance ticket purchase is required at www.mauichocolate.com/sunset-jazz or Jazz Maui.org.

During the Sunset Jazz concerts the chocolate factory features a carefully curated wine, spirits, and beer list along with three flights of chocolate and beverage pairings for purchase. Some classic pairings such as ports and reds are offered along with others that are unexpected such as sake and tequila. Or, imbibers can create their own pairing with or without the assistance of experienced Chocolate Sommeliers. Nonalcoholic beverages are also available.

Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate, through its Chocolate Laulima program supports local nonprofit organizations such as Arts Education for Children Group/Jazz Maui. Proceeds from concert ticket sales benefit Jazz Maui's music education programs.
