Jazz Maui Presents Sunset Jazz Featuring The Tadashi Thomas Quartet
Jazz Maui presents the weekly Sunset Jazz concert series featuring world-class live jazz music and chocolate/beverage pairings every Sunday from 5-7pm at the Maui Ku'ia Estate Chocolate Factory in Lahaina. On Sunday, January 14, trumpet player Tadashi Thomas performs along with keyboardist Jeff Hellmer, drummer Paul Marchetti, and bassist Ian Sheridan. Sunset Jazz concert attendees must be 21 or older and have a valid photo ID. Seating is limited and often sold out so advance ticket purchase is required at www.JazzMaui.org or https://mauichocolate.com/pages/sunset-jazz.
Hailing from Hawaii, Tadashi Thomas is a New York-based trumpet player, composer and arranger. He has performed at landmark jazz venues including Dizzy's Club, Birdland, Cafe Bohemia, and the Blue Note Hawaii. Thomas has shared the stage with musicians of the highest caliber including Samara Joy, Katie Thiroux, Justin Kauflin and the Birdland Big Band.
Jazz Maui, a branch of the 501(c)-3 nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group (www.aecg.org), provides opportunities for participation in high quality jazz music education and performances. Throughout the year The Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series presents Sunset Jazz every Sunday in Lahaina, outstanding visiting virtuosos in a bimonthly concert series in Kihei, and special concert, clinics and classes held at various venues around the islands. Jazz Maui supports Jazz Night at the Empanada Lady in Wailuku and Sheryl Renee "Salutes" at ProArts.
