Workshop: "'Ohe Kapala - The Tools of Kapa"
Held at Viewpoints Gallery, and led by two of the most respected master kapa makers in Hawai`i, Moana Eisele and Dalani Tanahy, this workshop will immerse you in the Hawaiian way of making kapa by focusing on the tools, design, and printing techniques. Students will make their own ‘ohe kapala - the bamboo printer’s stamps used to decorate kapa - and use them to print on various materials. The workshop fee is $50, and the supply fee is $20 per student.
