Hurricane Expo
The 2009 Hurricane Season, runs from June 1 to November 30 and is predicted to be busier than usual. All the more reason for you to get your house in order--Plan To Be Ready! This year’s Expo will feature about 10 exhibitors who will pass out information on protecting yourself, your family, your house, and your possessions in case of a hurricane or other high wind and rain events. Exhibitors include American Red Cross, Central Pacific Hurricane Center, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), Maui County Civil Defense, Maui County Health Volunteers (MCHV), Maui Humane Society, Pacific Disaster Center, Salvation Army, U.S. Coast Guard, and Verizon Wireless. Members of the MCHV will also be providing free blood pressure screening. Bring your kids! They are a great resource to help you get prepared for a hurricane.
