World Oceans Day with Pacific Whale Foundation
World Oceans Day is an annual celebration of the ocean, its importance to our lives, and how each of us can protect it, no matter where we live. Held on June 08, this year’s theme is ‘Together We Can’, encouraging people from around the world to share what they are doing to protect the ocean, showcasing the idea that, together, we can make a difference.
This World Oceans Day, you can join Pacific Whale Foundation in advocating for a healthy ocean with shoreline and reef cleanups, a free citizen science micro plastic sampling cruise, keiki art contest, treasure hunt and more.

Participants will assist with annual research by conducting a microplastics tow while en route to Olowalu reef where we will clean up reef rubbish. While in the water, snorkelers will collect seawater samples, filtering for debris and recording data with the assistance of trained Marine Naturalists on board Ocean Odyssey.
