Akaku's 5th Maui Walk of Heroes Celebration

It promises to be a fun party and it will be more fun if you can come and join us!

This year we will enshrine in cement the hand and footprints of three of Maui Nui’s favorite heroes, Former Maui County Councilwoman and Chair, Gladys Baisa, former Maui Economic Development Board CEO, Jeannie Skog, and the dynamic storyteller, defender of Makena, and treasured Kupuna, Uncle Les Kuloloio. This is a chance for you to show your appreciation for their lifetime of dedication to keeping Maui No Ka Oi for all of us!

This free, family friendly event will feature the always entertaining dynamic duo,
John A.H. Tomoso and Kahu David Kapaku as Master of Ceremonies, music by the rollicking Andy Kaina band, and some surprise musical guests. Adding to the fun will be cool videos on the big screen, tips on how to get the video from your phone broadcast on Akaku TV, on-air interviews, dancing, and good cheer. All this, just steps away from
Akaku Center’s fine eating and drinking establishments. Festivities will be broadcast “live” on Akaku Channel 55.

Thank you for your friendship and steadfast support of our mission which is to always find new and interesting ways to "Empower our Community's Voice through Access to Media."
