Sign Waving, Parol Making & Baybayin Writing Workshop
October is the Fil-Am Heritage Month. To commemorate it, we will be a part of the Maui Fil-Am Heritage Festival that will be taken place at Queen Kaahumanu Mall from 10-3pm on October 21, 2017. We will have a Parol Making booth and a Baybayin Script Writing booth. For those who don't know, a parol is a Filipino lantern which is common during the Christmas season. Baybayin in the other hand is the ancient Filipino script writing.
In preparation before the big event, we would like to invite all members of UHMC and Baldwin High School Kabatak Club to the sign waving outside of Queen Ka'ahumanu Center to promote the Fil-Am Heritage Festival on Thursday, October 19th till 5:30PM.
Right after the sign waving, we will be holding a Parol making Baybayin writing workshop at the volunteer room where Jeans Warehouse was previously located at (infront of Zummies) inside the mall until 10 PM. Please don't forget to wear your club t-shirts. If you don't have a club t-shirt, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you there!
