Screening of "Go for Broke' -- Memories of Hawai`i Japanese Nisei" produced by Hiroyuki Matsumoto
To honor the Nisei Veterans who courageously fought to protect our freedoms, the Japanese Cultural Society of Maui and Maui's Sons and Daughters of the Nisei Veterans cordially invite its members and the public at large to a Dedication of a "Rock Feature" at Kepaniwai Park on Saturday, July 14, at 10 a.m. followed by the screening of the film, "'Go for Broke' -- Memories of Hawai`i Japanese Nisei" produced by Hiroyuki Matsumoto who will also be in attendance.
Admission to the film screening, which begins at 11 a.m. at Kahului Hongwanji Temple, is $20, and includes lunch. Net proceeds will be donated to Kansha Preschool, according to Matsumoto.
Maui’s screening on July 14th is part of a series that will be taking Matsumoto to the Big Island, Oahu and Maui. There are 10 Maui Nisei Veterans that are included in this 98 minute video.
As seating is limited, only people who have purchased tickets beforehand will be accommodated.
