Maui Matsuri Kickoff Event
A kimono fashion show, taiko, karaoke and Japanese dance performances will be the highlight of the Maui Matsuri kickoff event on Friday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Queen Kaahumanu Center.
Sponsored by Araki-Regan & Associates LLC, the kickoff event will feature Hello Kitty in a kimono and will include a children's coloring contest sponsored by Sanrio. The event will conclude with obon odori practice around the center stage at approximately 8 p.m.
Bento dinner tickets for the May 11th Matsuri Family Movie Night will be available for purchase.
The purpose of the free event is to bring more public awareness about the upcoming 12th Annual Maui Matsuri on May 11-12.
